      All our hand carved mats are done by my husband Don.  In 1988                    

 he had the good fortune of being able to study in New York City

 under Brian Wolf, a world enowned mat carver.  We can create a

 design that will go with your art or create your design for you. It is

 also nice to use two mats, as the under mat both shows through

 the carved design and acts as an inner mat.  The top mat is usually

 the lighter of the two while the under mat is darker or foil.

    Inside shapes and corners as well as the face of the mat can be

   very showy. . .
